One of my favorite fall desserts is apple pie. Nothing says Christmas like apple pie to me. Obviously it is still October, but Christmas is my favorite holiday. I have been making my pumpkin spice oats for a while now and this morning I thought I would try something different. I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients:
1/2 C old fashioned oats
1/2 C water or unsweetened almond milk
1/2 scoop protein (I used PE Science blondie flavor)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp clove
1 T Walden farms maple syrup
1/2 C egg whties
1/4 apple, peeled and chopped
1 T walden farms mapple syrup
1 T walden farms caramel syrup
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp lemon juice
Directions:
Chop up your apples and put into a microwave safe bowl (a different bowl then for the oats), with all the syrups and seasonings. Microwave for 1 minute on high, stir and microwave again fro 30 seconds to a minute till the apples are tender. For the oats, put everything into the bowl except the egg whites, mix and microwave for 30 seconds. Mix again and add half the egg whites. Microwave another 30 seconds. Mix again and add the rest of the egg whites. Microwave 30 seconds and mix. If you feel it needs more time you can do another 30 seconds. When you're done, put the apples on top with the syrup juice and mix it in! you can top it with 1 T sliced almonds or another nut of your choice. This will warm your insides on a cool morning and curb your sweet tooth. Enjoy!
