Anything in life worth doing is hard at first and is not what you're used to. Taking your life from an unhealthy lifestyle to a healthy lifestyle can be daunting. Where do you even begin? I feel like it is so easy to jump in and immediately get discouraged. I have done a million different type of weight loss plans and have gone back and forth with different things. I know what it is like to start and quit and feel like you will never get there. The truth is that ANYONE can get there. But the path to getting there is different for everyone.

First thing to remember; it takes time to create habits and you didn't start living an unhealthy lifestyle overnight. You will not wake up tomorrow and start eating clean, running fast, lifting heavy weights, and lose a bunch of body fat. BE REALISTIC!

You have to set small achievable goals for yourself if you want to succeed and reach your ultimate goal. I read an article a long time ago that I will never forget. It was about a man who was a marathon runner. He was always behind at the beginning of a race but always won at the end. People would ask him, how do you do it? He said he would run the path beforehand and pick landmarks and just make his goal to get to each next marker. When he got to the mailbox he would tell himself, "Well I got to the mailbox! I think I can get to the tree!." He would do this until he got all the way to the end of the race. While everyone else was counting down the miles and stressing themselves out about how far they had left to run, he was excited by how many goals he had already reached! So by the time he got to the end, he had already accomplished so much. This is how you have to think if you want to see a change in your life and in your body.

Stop looking at your body or your life and thinking, "how am I going to make this huge change?" Make small changes, set realistic goals and then focus on those small goals! Don't forget to reward yourself for every single goal you reach! I find myself reaching a goal and then saying, "well I am still not where I want to be." That is OKAY! Big changes take time and every step you take in the right direction is deserving of a pat on your back! Also do not forget that we all make mistakes. When you don't make it to the gym

or eat something you shouldn't have, don't quit! Don't beat yourself up. Do not give up and lose all the progress you have made. You can be disappointed but then you need to reassess and refocus back on your goals and KEEP GOING. No one who made it to the Olympics started out at the top. They worked hard. They fell on their faces. They broke bones. They messed up. But they kept going even when it got really hard and even when they felt failure. You will make mistakes on your journey to self love and having a healthy lifestyle. That doesn't mean you aren't doing great. You have to do the best you can and keep moving forward. Don't give up on making yourself the best you can be. You deserve it!
